POSITION: Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track, Business Systems Analysis and Technology (EEO BA 3-07)
QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate in a field appropriate for teaching Quantitative Methods (QMET) and Operations Management (POM) courses. Candidates that are additionally qualified to teach in MIS will be preferred. Exceptional professionally qualified candidates will also be considered. Professionally qualified candidates must have a MS or MBA and at least 15 years of relevant POM and/or MIS related business experience that should involve senior project management or line managerial experience in related areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The ideal candidate would exhibit both the ability and desire to teach a variety of Quantitative Methods and Operations Management courses. Other area courses may include but are not be limited to Information Systems Management, Data Analysis, and Business Statistics. The successful candidate must possess or have the potential to develop an active research agenda with a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals, or, if professionally qualified, an ongoing involvement with the business community through activities such as consulting, company training, community training in technical topics, and professional society leadership.
ADMINISTRATIVE:The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is one of eight publicly supported universities governed by the University of Louisiana System. It consists of nine degree granting units: The Colleges of The Arts, B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration, Education, Engineering, General Studies, Liberal Arts, Nursing and Allied Health Professions, Sciences, and the Graduate School. The University has an enrollment of approximately 16,300 students (this includes roughly 1,400 graduate students) with a full-time faculty of approximately 570. The University offers undergraduate degrees in 80 disciplines, the master's degree in 29 disciplines, one post-masters certificate, Doctor of Philosophy degrees in eight disciplines, and a joint Doctor of Education degree in educational leadership by UL Lafayette and Southeastern Louisiana University.
The B. I. Moody III College of Business Administration consists of five departments: Accounting, Business Systems Analysis and Technology, Economics and Finance, Management, and Marketing and Hospitality. The College has an enrollment of approximately 2,800 students with a full-time faculty of roughly 50. In addition, there is an MBA enrollment of approximately 175 students. The College is accredited by AACSB International. The Department of Business Systems Analysis and Technology has a faculty of 12 with more than 300 majors in a Management Information Systems (MIS) degree program focused on systems analysis and the design of technology solutions to business problems.
SALARY: Competitive, depending upon qualifications and experience.
