The Department of Management of the College of Business Administration at the University of Akron invites applications for a tenure track position (Assistant / Associate / Full), starting in Fall 2008. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. (or ABD near degree completion) in Management or related fields, and demonstrate a strong record of, or potential for, quality research and teaching. Expertise and related background in healthcare management is strongly desired.

The Department of Management offers strong and thriving undergraduate and graduate programs with concentrations in various areas of Business Administration. The Department has 20 full time faculty and serves about 2800 undergraduate and 500 graduate majors in the College of Business Administration. The College of Business Administration is an AACSB accredited institution that has been recently recognized as one of the top programs by the Princeton Review. The University of Akron has approximately 25,000 students from 41 U.S. states and 68 countries. The university has been accredited since 1914 by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and is ranked at the highest level as a comprehensive, doctoral-degree granting institution. The Northeast Ohio region has recently also become of the most active areas for healthcare startups in the Midwest and accounted for nearly 25% of all healthcare investing in the first half of 2007.

Compensation will be competitive and will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
