Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) invites applications/nominations for the EADS-SMI Endowed Chair Professorship of Sourcing and Supply Management. The EADS-SMI Chair Professor would lead a team of faculty, researcher assistants and doctoral students and work towards creating a global research programme of excellence in Sourcing and Supply Management. The Chair Professor will leverage his/her position to enhance and strengthen the interaction with partner institutions and industry
The EADS-SMI Chair of Sourcing and Supply Management at IIMB is supported by EADS and SMI. The Endowment instituted by EADS, a global leader in the aerospace, defence and related services industries will feature onsite participation by Supply Management Institute. The Supply Management Institute is an International Research and Training Center for Purchasing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the European Business School (EBS), the oldest private university of business administration in Germany. The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore is amongst the best business schools in the Asia-Pacific region and is known for its research and teaching activities.
The EADS-SMI Chair Professor should have a PhD in Operations Management, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related area. He/she should have demonstrated excellence in research and teaching, and proven ability to manage relationships with industry.

Apart from the regular salary as per the norms of the institute, the EADS-SMI Chair Professor will be paid substantial additional compensation and will also have access to a generous research and travel grant.
