The School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) Chair in International Supply Chain Management. The Chair is a tenured appointment at the Associate or Full Professor rank in the School of Business & Economics and an endowed Chair in the new Balsillie School of International Affairs.
The School of Business & Economics (www.wlu.ca/sbe) is one of the largest and most innovative business schools in Canada. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees including a new PhD in Management to more than 4500 students on campuses in Waterloo and Toronto. With a mission to achieve excellence in management education, the School provides strong support for faculty to fully develop both their teaching and research capabilities. The Balsillie School of International Affairs (www.balsillieschool.ca) is a collaborative initiative of the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University, with the support and involvement of the Centre for International Governance Innovation. It was established through a major gift from Jim Balsillie, co-CEO of Research in Motion and will be home to 18 endowed Chairs and other faculty, more than 50 endowed graduate fellows, and three existing programs (a Masters in Global Governance, a Masters in International Public Policy, and a joint PhD in Global Governance). The School will be housed in a signature building, opening in 2009.

Applicants for the CIGI Chair should have a PhD in a related field and an established record of excellence in research and teaching at the graduate level. The Chair’s activities will focus on international supply chain management strategy, policy and governance issues (both governmental and corporate) to facilitate effective, efficient, secure supply chains. As a recognized leader in his/her field, the CIGI Chair will have unparalleled opportunities for research and collaboration in a new, innovative and strongly supported environment, and will enhance the School’s newly created MSc and existing PhD specializations in operations and supply chain management.
