Applications are invited for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position, in Supply Chain Management, at the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba. The Department of SCM was established July 1, 2004, bringing together nine scholars of logistics/transportation, purchasing/supply, management science, and operations management, including the Director of the Transport Institute. The scholars assembled in the Department, coupled with the resources and expertise of the Institute, position the University of Manitoba among the leading centres for transportation, logistics, and SCM research and education in North America.
A Ph.D. degree is required in SCM or a closely related field. Candidates near completion of their Ph.D. will also be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and interest in a core area of SCM, e.g. purchasing/supply, logistics, or operations. The position requires a strong research orientation, along with research interests in SCM. While the preferred starting date is July 1, 2010, there is flexibility to start earlier.
SCM academic staff is encouraged to participate in the research and outreach activities of the Transport Institute. The Institute conducts research and offers conferences and workshops in logistics and SCM, with a focus on issues of relevance to Manitoba and Canada. (For more details, see http://www.umti.ca).
