Position Description: The Char and Chuck Fowler Chair in Sustainable Enterprise

The Char and Chuck Fowler Chair in Sustainable Enterprise is designed for a preeminent scholar who is internationally recognized for her/his research and educational impact in Business Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship. The Professor/Associate Professor holding this position is expected to teach and provide leadership for a world-class research program in the Weatherhead School’s Center for Sustainable Value.

Candidates for the Chair should possess a clear vision of emerging research and educational opportunities in Business Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship and be innovative in implementing that vision. She or he should be an active and driven researcher and an institution builder. In addition, all candidates must hold a PhD or DBA in a related topic and have demonstrable record of— or potential for — high impact scholarly contributions in his or her respective field and an outstanding teaching record, along with a managerial orientation.

The faculty at Weatherhead is recognized for its research and impact in shaping the practice of Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship. The position is open to scholars from all fields that have an interest in Business Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship. We are particularly interested in scholars who can work across disciplinary boundaries, given that opportunities exist for such collaboration, both within our school and across the university.

  • A statistician who specializes in forecasting the biological impacts of global climate change
  • An information systems person who studies global information systems concerned with hunger or with melting arctic sea ice
  • Someone who studies Bottom of the Pyramid strategies
