The department of Management and Organization at Stockholm School of Economics invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank starting July 2010.

The department carries out teaching in eight different areas: operations management, innovation management, information management, entrepreneurship, leadership, corporate governance, human resource management and organization theory. The department contributes to the Bachelor, Master, PhD and MBA programs at SSE.

The two positions are focused on the operations and innovation management areas. The basic requirement is that candidates are strong both in terms of research and teaching in these areas. However, an ability to teach outside these areas is valuable.

The successful candidates further need to exhibit a strong research track record, as evidenced by for instance the successful completion of a PhD degree, publications in scientific journals, a presence in the international research community and a strong research and publication pipeline. An ability to attract research funding is also considered, as is leadership experience related to research efforts and in roles interacting with corporate stakeholders.

In terms of teaching, candidates should show documented evidence of high quality teaching at undergraduate, graduate and executive levels. Candidates should also be proficient at coaching student projects carried out in industry. Finally, special emphasis will be put on candidates’ ability to design and teach courses on innovation at the new MBA program, to be launched in 2011.
