CRC (Tier II) in Technology Commercialization and Intellectual Capital Creation
The School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for a Tier II Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Technology Commercialization and Intellectual Capital Creation. This position is intended to foster and produce research and generate solutions that will: (1) maximize innovative output by creating a diverse network of cross-disciplinary researchers from across Canada, and (2) maximize the value generated through innovation by connecting with complementary resource holders and the firms interested in benefiting from them.
The successful candidate is expected to take a leadership role in developing avenues of research that build on existing strengths within the School of Business & Economics and Wilfrid Laurier University and organized around at least three major thrusts:
- Business opportunities from advances in Canadian science and technology
- Development and production of competitive Canadian products, and
- Canadian success in the global marketplace.
Applicants must demonstrate an outstanding record of publications and conference presentations as well as practical experience in the areas related to Technology, Innovation and Intellectual Capital.
The school has over one hundred full-time faculty and more than 3,500 undergraduate and graduate students on campuses in Waterloo and Toronto, Ontario. Waterloo, where the main campus is located, is a highly innovative and dynamic region and is the home to a number of leading high technology firms. The CRC program was established by the Government of Canada to enable Canadian universities to achieve the highest levels of research excellence in the global, knowledge-based economy. In conjunction with the University, the candidate will be expected to complete the nomination form and CFI request prior to the CRC nomination deadline. Applicants will have completed their doctoral studies within the past 10 years, and have an outstanding academic record with recognized potential for leadership in their field. The candidate will be expected to establish a strong, well-funded research program, to advise graduate students, and to teach (at a reduced load) within the School of Business and Economics.
