Conference Announcement: POMS College of Humanitarian Operations and Crisis Management â€" HOCM, 2013
It is with great pleasure we inform you that the Second Annual Mini-Conference of the POMS HOCM College will be held in Denver, CO on Thursday, May 2nd 2013, one day before the POMS Annual meeting.
This exciting mini-conference will provide insights on how operations management can play a relevant role in supporting humanitarian systems in the alleviation of human suffering under conditions triggered by natural and man-made disasters. The event will also provide insights on how operations management can support a sustainable transition of disaster relief efforts into longer-term development. The presenters include humanitarian logistics practitioners, military officers, government representatives as well as senior academics from diverse backgrounds.

2014 Best Paper Competition
The POMS College of Humanitarian Operations & Crisis Management invites all HOCM researchers to submit their papers to the HOCM Track Best Paper Award. The award will be presented at the POMS Annual Meeting in Atlanta. The objective of the competition is to identify and honor outstanding papers in the fast-growing field of HOCM. Submissions will be judged based on their contribution towards the advancement of theory and practice of HOCM. All research methods, including field/case studies, empirical and analytical methods are encouraged.
