2026 HOCM Student Video Competition
HOCM is also also running a 3-minute video competition for current and recent PhD students. This competition is also linked to the annual conference in Reno (May 7-11, 2026).
The aims are to (1) recognize efforts to disseminate PhD research on HOCM topics to a broad audience, (2) offer a channel to bring ongoing/planned research streams to the attention of HOCM scholars, and (3) recognize practical and scientifically impactful work. Both current and recent PhD students can contribute, and the video can cover planned, ongoing, or finished research. The top-3 videos will be featured during the award session. The winner and runner-up, announced at the business meeting, will each receive a plaque and a monetary prize — $500 for the winner and $250 for the runner-up. See the attachment for more details.
