The Society Congratulates Dr. Chelliah Sriskandarajah on Mays Business School Lifetime Achievement Award

The Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) proudly congratulates one of its most dedicated and distinguished members, Dr. Chelliah Sriskandarajah, on receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, the school's highest faculty honor.
Dr. Sriskandarajah has served POMS with distinction across a wide range of leadership roles over more than two decades. He served as Associate Executive Director from 2004 to 2012, as Vice President of Finance from 2013 to 2017, and as Vice President of Publications from 2018 to 2019. He served as President of POMS from January 2020 to December 2021. Since July 2012, he has served as Departmental Editor for the society's flagship journal, Production and Operations Management. He currently serves as General Chair of the POMS 36th Annual Conference, to be held in Reno, Nevada in May 2026.
In recognition of his lasting influence on the discipline, POMS established the Chelliah Sriskandarajah Early Career Research Accomplishments Award, presented annually to honor rising scholars in the field. His research spans production scheduling, supply chain management, healthcare operations, and currency supply chain systems, and has produced valuable impact across industries and institutions worldwide.
Dr. Sriskandarajah is a Fellow of POMS and holds the Hugh Roy Cullen Chair in Business Administration at Mays Business School, where he has been a faculty member since 2012. He has supervised 20 doctoral dissertations so far, with former students now serving in faculty positions across the United States, Canada, and Asia.
